Pro-Ahmadinejad Bloggers Attack Khamenei Back

By Muhammad Sahimi

Last week, in response to the row between Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Majles Speaker Ali Larijani, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei rebuked the president strongly, but only offered mild criticism of Larijani. This has angered pro-Ahmadinejad bloggers in Iran and provoked to explicitly attack him.

Four pro-Ahmadinejad websites, Nedaaei az daroon, Hamsaazi, Khat Khati, and Hoviyaatona protested Khamenei's criticism of Ahmadinejad. Khamenei had referred to Ahmadinejad's revelation about Larijani's brother's corruption as "illegal, immoral, and against Islam." Hamsazi said this is "violating" the President's rights, The blogger wrote, "I confess that I cannot understand the comparison that the Leader made [between what Ahmadinejad and Larijani said against each other], and resolving this issue has become too complex for me that is beyond my thinking ability. Thus, so long as I cannot  understand the reason for what my dear Leader [Khamenei] said, I stop writing."

Khat Khati declared that "what the Leader said was not fair," adding, "How can one decide that broadcasting of a film about the corruption of a brother [Fazel Larijani] of the chiefs of two branches of the government [Ali Larijani and judiciary chief Sadegh Larijani] is against religion and law? Which law has banned secret filming of an illegal act? Which law has banned revelations about such corruption? Is it not against the law that a media cartel that is linked with the military act like a conspiracy center and try to produce issues against the President? Are the shameless insults of the other side [Ali Larijani] only mildly excessive," a reference to what Khamenei said about Ali Larjani?

Nedaaei az Daroon also wrote that as long as he does not understand the reason for what Khamenei said, it will refuse to post a new blog.

And, Hoviyyatona has reported on "the broad protests" against what Khamenei said abouyt Ahmadinejad and his revelations about the Larijani brothers.
